"Cultivating Connections: Agriculture, Community & Advocacy with Jake Fojtik"

Join us for "Cultivating Connections: Agriculture, Community & Advocacy with Jake Fojtik," an engaging discussion on the past, present, and future of agriculture in Indian River County. Jake Fojtik, Assistant Director of Government & Community Affairs for the Florida Farm Bureau Federation and owner of Fojtik Flatwoods Farm, will share insights on agricultural advocacy, sustainable farming practices, and the importance of supporting local food production. Don’t miss this opportunity to learn about the challenges and opportunities shaping Florida’s agricultural landscape!

Jake Fojtik, an Indian River County native with family roots in Vero Beach dating back over 100 years, is deeply committed to the region’s agricultural heritage and future. As the Assistant Director of Government & Community Affairs for the Florida Farm Bureau Federation, the state’s largest general agriculture organization and grassroots nonprofit, Jake represents Farm Bureau members and the agricultural community in South Florida, advocating on critical issues such as water, wildlife, natural resources, local government, and growth management.

Beyond his advocacy work, Jake and his wife, Elizabeth, own and operate Fojtik Flatwoods Farm (F3), where they raise pastured pork and poultry using regenerative agricultural methods to provide fresh, locally sourced food to Indian River County and surrounding areas. This event aims to educate the community on the vital role of agriculture, highlight advocacy efforts that support farmers and shape agricultural policies, and promote sustainable practices through local food production. Attendees will have the opportunity to engage in discussions about the challenges and future of farming, environmental concerns, and local government policies, while also being encouraged to support local agriculture by connecting with farmers and learning about the benefits of sustainable food sources.

Join us for an insightful conversation on the past, present, and future of Florida’s agricultural landscape and its impact on our community!
